What Is Indian Food?

What gives Indian food the unique flavor, is the composition of the spices – not that the ingredients are foreign or exotic.

The main difference between Norwegian and Indian food is the use of spices. Cardamom, cinnamon and nutmeg are spices that Norwegians use when baking, while in India they used in dinner dishes. The very secret of making good Indian food is to add the various ingredients in the right order, and not to add it all together at once.

You have to follow the ingredients on a journey – from the beginning to the end, where the goal is the perfect dish.

The spices actually give off their own taste and smell from when

they are added. There are large geographical differences on the food front in India. Dishes such as Chicken Korma and Chicken Tikka Masala are among the best known dishes from the North. These are characterized by their powerful and flavorful sauces.
